Taking Care Of Your Mental Health During the Pandemic

As we continue to do our part and stay safe at home, it’s important to ensure you are taking care of your mental health in addition to your physical health. For most of us, it’s been 6-7 weeks of practicing social distancing and staying at home because of COVID-19. Many are dealing with stress, fear, anxiety, and other feelings of unease, all at once.  We all react differently to these situations and it’s important to know how to cope with our emotions in a safe and healthy manner.

Here are five tips to stay healthy and happy while practicing social distancing during the pandemic.

If you, or someone you love, feel overwhelmed with emotions like stress, anxiety, or depression, seek help from a trusted healthcare provider or visit the Disaster Distress Hotline by calling 1-800-985-5990.

It might feel overwhelming but by embracing and incorporating necessary mental health measures like the ones above, we will be a happier and healthier society that feels a bit more normal each day that goes by.

And lastly, remember, be your own advocate! Speak up, take action, and think positive thoughts!
