Mrs. Calcano-Thomas was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico and was raised in Orlando, Florida where she continues to reside with her husband and three children. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and obtained her Juris Doctorate Degree from Florida A&M University College of Law. She is bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish.
Mrs. Calcano-Thomas previously owned Calcano-Thomas Law where she exclusively litigated family law cases consisting of divorces, child support, paternity, injunction, custody, enforcement, and modification proceedings. Additionally, Mrs. Calcano-Thomas served as an Assistant Regional Counsel in Orange County Florida where she practiced juvenile dependency law representing of indigent parents against allegations of child abuse in hundreds of cases brought by the Department of Children and Families.
Mrs. Calcano-Thomas is a certified family law mediator and collaborative law attorney. She also contributes to the community as an Adjunct Professor at Valencia College teaching Business Law since the fall of 2016, serves as a pro bono Guardian Ad Litem for the Legal Aid Society of Orange County, is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, and was a member of the Collaborative Law Group of Central Florida.
